In a world where so many problems are beyond my control, I can escape into mathematics. Here I can grapple with problems that are clearly defined, that may or may not be soluble, but it is a wonderful distraction to escape into this alternative world. Here there is structure and I can create balance by sectioning off parts of a drawing and blocking in black and white.
